Texas Ballet Theater Summer Youth Program

The Texas Ballet Theater is presenting their summer workshop for youth ages 12-21. The workshop is developed to primarily improve a young dancer's skill set and foundation and technique in many dance styles. The dance styles that will have instruction are:

Ballet Technique

Pointe

A Men's Class

Modern Jazz

Latin Dance

The classses will be 20-30 students each at three different levels. Classes are all day long.

At the end of the five-week program one student will be offered a scholarship to attend the 2009-2010 school year at Texas Ballet Theater.

Young Designer Spotlight: Cushnie et Ochs

Cushnie et Ochs just finished up at Parson's School of Design in 08 and they have two collections under their belt already. They debuted their line last year with their Senior project for Parson's to an audience full of influential editors and buyers. They represent a new crop of young designers that don't play it too safe and are actually defining their own style and rules while being commercially appealing. It is important that we (fashionistas) support these young designers as they try to carve out success for themselves and gain entry into this often times elusive and fickle industry we call fashion. The City of Dallas is presenting "City Arts" June 12- June 14 downtown. This event is free to the public and will be full of entertainment and from the visual to performing arts. There will be art performances from various styles and categories. Among the groups scheduled to perform are; The South Dallas Concert Choir, Ballet Folklorico of Dallas, Dallas Black Dance Academy's Performing Ensemble and so many more. Please patron the vendors food and beverages! Enjoy!

FBYA is searching for Student Interns "The Fabulous Four"
We need the following for a year long internship:

Junior Fashion Editor, will coordinate a photo shoot monthly for the FBYA blog and other publications
Student Journalist, will write one article per week for the FBYA blog and conduct interviews for FBYA sponsored events
Online Marketing Assistant, to promote FBYA online, especially via social networking sites
General Marketing Assistant, to assist with FBYA grassroots/guerilla marketing initiatives

All interns will be required to attend FBYA sponsored events. Must be a stellar student and a serious fashionista with a desire to pursue a career in the fashion industry.
